TGI Fridays rewards customers celebrating their ‘half-birthdays’

TGI Fridays has launched a new programme that rewards its customers not just when it is their birthday but when it is their “half-birthday” too.

Replacing its Birthday Club, the company has introduced the Celebrations Club at its 66 venues across the UK which people can sign up to via the TGI Fridays website.

It continues to offer free cocktails, smoothies or desserts to people and up to five of their friends on their birthdays but now also offers these celebratory treats on their “half-birthday” six months later.

The programme also keeps members up to date on promotions and events, personalised to their location. Those who are already signed up to the Birthday Club will automatically be enrolled in the Celebrations Club.

Karen Forrester, chief executive of TGI Fridays UK, said: “We’re well-known as a destination guests come to for a real celebration experience. Our Birthday Club has been incredibly popular with Fridays fans with many thousands signed up to it, so we wanted to take this to the next level and give our guests another excuse to come and celebrate with us. After all – who wouldn’t want two birthdays a year?”
