That Boutique-y Rum Company debuts Signature Blends

That Boutique-y Rum Company Signature Blends

Atom Brands’ That Boutique-y Rum Company (TBRC) has launched the first in a new series of Signature Blends focused on simplicity and duality.

Signature Blend #1 and Signature Blend #2 have been developed by That Boutique-y Rum Company’s ‘rum guy’ Pete Holland of The Floating Rum Shack.

Designed for sipping and mixing, the two new blends “focus on simplicity and duality, combining different styles of rum that work in perfect harmony”.

Signature Blend #1 – Bright Grass (40% ABV) is a predominantly unaged blend of rum from Jamaica and Martinique, with a touch of four-year-old Jamaican rum for “added depth of flavour”. The spirit is “bright and grassy, with plenty of ripe tropical fruit and notes of pepper and oak on the finish”.

Created with the intention of making Pete Holland’s Mai Thais, Signature Blend #2 – Elegant Dried Fruits (40% ABV) combines rums from Guyana and Jamaica, resulting in notes of oak, black tea and tobacco, with hints of eucalyptus and dried coconut.

Pete said: “When tasked with creating rums that would be predominantly used in cocktails, I firstly had to think of the style of drinks that I’d like to enjoy, then set about working a blend that stood up to my idea of what the cocktail would taste like.

“I don’t like the idea of trying to balance many different rum styles, a situation that overly complicates things. I much prefer the simplicity of two distinct styles working harmoniously together, each displaying their strengths and contributions to the cocktail.”

As with the rest of the TBRC range, the labels for the Signature Collection have been developed by Microsoft Paint artist Jim’ll Paint It, and continue the theme of duality and simplicity.

Signature Blend #1 sees the white snake of the Martinique flag alongside Lignum Vitae, the national flower of Jamaica, while Signature Blend #2 is also illustrated with the Lignum Vitae as well as the Victoria Amazonica lily, the national flower of Guyana.

Selina Raggett, brand manager for That Boutique-y Rum Company, said: “Since its launch in October, That Boutique-y Rum Company has become well known for rare bottlings, exclusive blends and limited casks from some of the best rum distilleries worldwide.

“The Signature Blends stem from the knowledge and relationships we have developed over the past year, allowing us to create a continuous liquid that still meets the high Boutique-y standards and our ‘no BS’ approach to the rum category.”

Signature Blend #1 and Signature Blend #2 are available to the UK on-trade through Maverick Drinks and globally from Atom Brands.
