The success of Thatchers Big Apple – a traditional cider full of flavour – in limited editions at festivals has led to its launch exclusively in the on-trade in bag-in-box.
Crafted from vintage bittersweet apple varieties including Tremlett’s, Dabinett and Somerset Redstreak, it is a medium dry, still cider that bursts with apple flavours and has a depth of character crafted to appeal to lovers of traditional ciders. It has ABV of 6.4%.
Martin Thatcher, managing director Thatchers Cider, said: “This is a premium cider that first made its appearance earlier this year at Glastonbury Festival and the JD Wetherspoon Cider Festival. We had such a positive response from consumers, I’m delighted to say we have made Big Apple available to the on-trade in a 20 litre bag-in-box.
“Our cidermakers love nothing better than working with our apples and crafting new blends of cider. This is a beautifully balanced cider using apple varieties that we’re sure consumers will appreciate, particularly if they enjoy the depth of our bottled Thatchers Vintage Cider.
“With the renewed focus on heritage ciders, and the draught cider market now accounting for two-thirds of total cider in the on-trade, operators can certainly continue to add interest to their cider range with this vintage Somerset cider.”
