The Columbo Group to open new Blues Kitchen in Brixton

The Columbo Group has announced it will bring its popular Blues Kitchen bar, restaurant and music concept to south London with the opening of a new site in Brixton.

The company has taken over well-known venue Electric Social and will develop the site to relaunch it as The Blues Kitchen this autumn.

It will be the group’s eighth venue and its third operating as The Blues Kitchen after a successful launch in Shoreditch in 2014 and the original Blues Kitchen in Camden which opened in 2009 (pictured).

As with the previous two sites, The Blues Kitchen will offer Texan-style barbecue food, live music seven nights a week and one of the biggest bourbon selections in London.

Columbo Group founder Steve Ball, who was last year named as one of Evening Standard’s 1,000 Influential Londoners, said: “Brixton is currently one of the most exciting areas of London for restaurants, bars and clubs so we’re thrilled to be opening our third Blues Kitchen site here.

“The lively mix of late-night music and authentic barbecue has been a great success in both Camden and Shoreditch and I look forward to bringing the party down south to Brixton.”

Other openings over the past six months in Brixton have included cocktail bars Sovereign Loss and The Shrub & Shutter and restaurants Wahaca and Chicken Liquor.
