The Drinks Trust launches End of Furlough Grant scheme

The Drinks Trust End of Furlough Grant scheme

Trade charity The Drinks Trust has introduced an End of Furlough Grant scheme to help industry professionals whose jobs are affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The government’s furlough scheme comes to an end on 31 October and will be replaced by the Job Support Scheme. The Drinks Trust says that, unfortunately, this will not be enough to save many workers in the drinks and hospitality industry.

Those experiencing immediate financial hardship as a result of the end of the furlough scheme – whether they’re out of work, going through redundancy or have had their salary significantly reduced – can apply for The Drinks Trust’s End of Furlough Grant of £250, alongside a range of wellness services.

Ross Carter, The Drinks Trust Chief Executive, said: “We want to reach out to those in the drinks and hospitality industry who have been hard hit, and have gone without the support of others.

“Industries like ours – the drinks industry – risk being amongst those who go unseen by the public, despite having faced some of the most significant challenges in their careers in recent months.”
