The May Fair Bar celebrates Marilyn Monroe

The Marilyn Monroe Collection at May Fair Bar

London’s The May Fair, A Radisson Collection Hotel is paying homage to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe with an exclusive exhibition featuring the star’s legendary outfits, screenings and movie-inspired cocktails.

Four outfits that Marilyn Monroe wore in her films and press conferences will be on view at the The May Fair between 24 September to 21 October, ahead of their sale by acclaimed auction house Julien’s Auctions on November 1.

The dresses on display are from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, There’s No Business Like Show Business, River of No Return and Some Like It Hot.

The hotel will be holding exclusive screenings for all four films. After each screening, guests can experience a special edition cocktail inspired by the outfit at the May Fair Bar.

Lorelei Lee, the first cocktail, is inspired by 1953’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. It presents a luxurious mix of Courvoisier VSOP, Moët & Chandon Brut, Cabernet Sauvignon, cherry reduction and champagne foam.

Marilyn Monroe fans can also try Kay Weston from River of No Return, made with Bombay Sapphire gin, saffron syrup, orange blossom honey, lemon and Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic.

Those looking for a short, sharp tipple with a hint of sweetness can taste the Sugar Kane, a heady mix of Bulliet Rye whiskey, Umeshu, Barolo Chinato and activated charcoal, inspired by Some Like It Hot.

Completing the line-up is the exotic Victoria Hoffman , combining Roku gin, yuzu, St-Germain, spiced honey syrup and egg white, which takes inspiration from There’s No Business Like Show Business.
