Non-alcoholic drinks brand Three Spirit has introduced two new variants to its plant-powered portfolio, designed to “stimulate the palate, mind and body”.
Developed by co-founders Tatiana Mercer, Dash Lilley and Meeta Gournay, the Three Spirit range has been created in response to the “semi-sober consumer” and those who seek “exciting functional alternatives that offer more than just flavour”.
The two new drinks, Livener and Nightcap, join Three Spirit Social Elixir, which launched to the UK market in December 2018. The original liquid combines eleven herbs and plants with “naturally blissful qualities” to replicate the positive effects of alcohol.
To create Livener and Nightcap, Dash, Tatiana and Meeta collaborated with a team of top bartenders, including Robin Honhold, previously of Mr Lyan, and Tristan Stephenson and Thomas Aske from Fluid Movement, alongside Michael Heinrich, head of the centre for Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy at the UCL School of Pharmacy.
Described as fierce, fiery and fruity in flavour, Livener is designed to “liven the sense”, uniting ingredients such as guayusa, a plant from the Ecuadorian amazon rainforest, as well as schisandra berries and “energising plants”. The team say it is best enjoyed in a spicy Margarita, Bellini or Daiquiri-style cocktail or simply with tonic and a wedge of lime.
The second new variant, Nightcap, is designed to “sip and savour” and “calm the senses”. Created with aromatic plants, bright spices and tree saps, including lemon balm, valerian, hops, oak and vanilla, the drink is recommended served straight over ice or in a classic Old Fashioned-style cocktail.
Tatiana said: “For this new breed of conscious hedonists – people who love to go out, let their hair down and have fun but who still want to be on form the next day – we offer the dream – great flavour, new function and unique drinking experience.”
Robin added: “Developing the range with Dash and his team has been creative, collaborative and lots of fun. Their passion and depth of skill in the digital world, the plant world and the social world builds amazing opportunities to dream big and make it happen.
“It’s been a very rewarding challenge pulling together my experience of ingredients and the experience of those who look at the effect those ingredients have. The original product excited me, and the work put in by Tom, Tristan and Matt inspired me when creating two new products.
“Now we have a range covering a whole evening’s worth of drinks – start to finish. I can’t wait for people to get their hands on them. The ingredients and flavours in these bottles are unlike anything I’ve seen before!”
