Tiki drink challenge seeks to find the Cocktail Kahuna

Cheeky Tiki

A competition to find the best tiki cocktails has been launched by rum website TheFloatingRumShack.com with leading specialist bar supplier Cheeky Tiki.

It will award the title of Cocktail Kahuna to the creator of the best Polynesian-inspired drink, calling for entries from both bartenders and consumers. “Kahuna” is Hawaiian for magician or an expert in a craft.

Entries are due by Monday September 22, with the competition itself taking place on September 27 at Cheeky Tiki’s Haole Hut (pictured) in Hackney Wick, east London, from 11am.

Unlike other cocktail competitions, there are no drinks brands involved so entries can use any rum. Rum does not have to be the main spirit used.

For details of how to enter, visit www.TheFloatingRumShack.com/cocktail-kahuna.

TheFloatingRumShack.com are widely travelled rum-writing, judging, consulting and drinking experts who really love a great tiki cocktail.

CheekyTiki is the UK’s leading supplier of tropical arts and décor, award-winning interior designers and cocktail bar fit-out experts. With sister company Bespoke Barware, it also creates and imports unique barware.

Guests are welcome to watch the final although they are asked to sign up in advance via the Facebook event page at www.facebook.com/events/264475697096519/ or email thefloatingrumshack@gmail.com.
