From the best bar teams to the most outstanding interior designs, the shortlist has been announced in Time Out London’s second annual Bar Awards.

The winners will be presented in association with Southern Comfort at an award event on June 5.

The judging panel included several bartenders: Alex Kratena, formerly of Artesian bar at London’s Langham hotel, Leon Dalloway, the founder of Gin Journey, Ryan Chetiyawardana, the founder of Dandelyan bar at the London Mondrian hotel, Davide Segat, bar manager of the Punch Room at the London Edition hotel, and Anna Sebastian, bar manager at the Beaufort Bar at The Savoy.

Other industry judges included Ian Burrell, global rum ambassador and founder of Rumfest, Sunaina Sethi, operations director and wine buyer for JKS Restaurants, and Hannah Sharman-Cox, founder of DrinkUp.London, the organisers of London Cocktail Week and London Wine Week.

Caroline McGinn, editor in chief of Time Out UK, said: “Cocktails involve craftsmanship, commitment and artistry. And the best people who make them deserve to be recognised for their talent and skill and creative ability. London’s bar culture has gone from strength to strength. And its diversity and excellence is captured in our shortlist for the Bar Awards, which range from classic venues like the Connaught to new cutting-edge venues like Untitled Bar, modelled on Andy Warhol’s Factory.

“We are delighted that Southern Comfort is presenting sponsor of our London Bar Awards and we look forward to delivering bespoke media and content plans to connect our partner with our audience, the bar sector and industry influencers.”
