Tony Hadley’s cask lager launched with Ooberstock

tony hadleyUK drinks wholesaler Ooberstock has launched its first national cask ale programme, starting with exclusive distribution of the new cask lager from Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley (pictured).

The programme is being run through Ooberstock’s distribution partner, Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics (KNDL), which is accredited by ale quality initiative Cask Marque.

It is starting this month by offering its on-trade customers Hadley’s Gold, the newly launched 4% ABV cask smooth golden lager, designed by Tony Hadley with The Great Yorkshire Brewery in Cropton, North Yorkshire.

The launch of Ooberstock’s national cask ale programme follows the success of other “celebrity ales” on its list. These have included Mr Trotter’s Great British Chestnut Ale in cask, developed by Tom Parker Bowles, Matthew Fort and Robert Ponsonby with Lancaster Brewery inspired by their Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling.

Ooberstock has also had success with Gladness in cask, the light gold beer designed by Suggs and the band from Madness, brewed by Growler Brewery in Essex.

Ooberstock managing director Arran Heal said: “Cask and craft beer is definitely a great point of differentiation for many pubs and at Ooberstock we aim to be famous for providing our customers with a great choice from this category.

“Hadley’s Gold is an example of this and we look forward to bringing other exciting brands to market over the next few months.”
