Tuscan restaurant and wine bar Enoteca Pomaio is now open in Shoreditch and will serve modern Italian food and Italian craft wines from small producers.
Owned by Tuscan brothers Marco and Iacapo Rossi, who also own award-winning winery Podere di Pomaio in Tuscany, the food menu has been created by executive head chef Francesco Mastronardi, previously of The Four Seasons in Florence and Milan.
Expect dishes such as Bruchettas with Truffle and Quail Eggs, Wild Boar Risotto with Broccoli & Guanciale, Mackerel Nicoise with Capers & Fresh Vegetables and a new fresh pasta dish created everyday to reflect seasonality.
The carefully selected wine list has been created by restaurant manager and Tuscan’s top sommelier Luca Degl’Innocenti and features Italian craft wines from small growers that are biodynamic, organic, sustainable and natural.
The interior is a combination of classic and modern Tuscan design and has been overseen by architect Marisa Lo Cigno. Marisa designed Podere di Pomaio’s Eco Wine Cellar, one of the 14 most beautifully designed Wine Cellars, according to Toscana Wine Architecture.
Decorated throughout with pieces sourced from Tuscan vintage markets and modern designers, the 50-cover restaurant is located at the corner of Brick Lane and Redchuch Street.
