The bars at Ham Yard Hotel, Rosewood and Edition hotels in London have been announced as finalists in the European Hotel Design Awards.
Firmdale Hotels’ Ham Yard Hotel, which opened in Soho in May, is up for the titles of best bar and best restaurant. Designed by Kit Kemp, the hotel is also a finalist for best bedroom and bathroom design.
Rosewood London, which was created out of the site of the Renaissance Chancery Court hotel in Holborn, is a finalist for best bar design for Scarfe’s Bar (pictured), which was the work of Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.
Rosewood is also a finalist for best renovation in the architecture categories, for the work of EPR Architects, as well as for the design of its bedrooms and bathrooms and its Manor House Suite, devised by Tony Chi & Associates.
The London Edition hotel in Fitzrovia is a finalist for best restaurant for both Berners Tavern and The Punch Room, which were designed by Yabu Pushelberg in collaboration with ISC Design Studio. It is also a finalist for best interior design of lobby, lounge and public areas, again the work of Yabu Pushelberg and ISC Design Studio.
The Rosebery at Mandarin Oriental London, designed by GA Design International, and Urban Meadow at Doubletree by Hilton Hyde Park in London, designed by Blacksheep, are both finalists for best interior design for a café-bar or all-day dining space.
Other finalists include Qbic Hotel London City, by March & White, and The Inn at John O’Groats in Scotland, designed by GLM, which are both up for best adaptive re-use in the architecture categories.
The Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge hotel, designed by Ica, is a finalist for best new-build project while the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, London, is a finalist for best renovation for a project led by EPR Architects.
The winners will be announced on November 25 during a dinner at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
