Ales and ciders from Northern Ireland are to be introduced in the UK after a new agreement secured by leading drinks company Marblehead Brand Development.
It is to distribute and market McGraths Irish Ales and Tempted Irish Craft Cider, covering both the on- and off-trade, on behalf of Belfast-based brand agency When We Are Giants.
McGraths Irish Ales, named in honour of the famous Irish greyhound Master McGrath, are produced by the Clanconnel Brewery in Waringstown in Northern Ireland and are available in six variants: Red, Pale, White, Blonde, Amber and Black Stout.
The family-owned Tempted Irish Craft Cider is produced at a purpose-built cidery in Armagh in Northern Ireland, and is available in four variants: Summer Sweet, Dry, Special Reserve and Strawberry. Tempted is Ireland’s most awarded craft cider, winning multiple accolades annually.
Jeremy Rocket, managing director of Marblehead, said: “After the success with the UK launches of our existing Irish portfolio – The Dublin Liberties Whiskey, The Dubliner Irish Whiskey and Feeney’s Irish Cream Liqueur – and the on-going building of those brands, we are delighted to now have the opportunity to do something exciting with McGraths Irish Ales and Tempted Irish Craft Cider in the UK market.
“We feel confident, with our breadth of expertise, that much success lies ahead for both brands.”
Steven Pattison, managing director of When We Are Giants, added: “We are excited to be partnering with such a strong sales, marketing and distribution team. The addition of McGraths Irish Ales and Tempted Irish Cider to Marblehead’s exciting portfolio will enable us to accelerate our growth.
“Their track record speaks for itself and we are confident that they are the right partner to take our brands into the UK.”
