New Hawaiian bar and restaurant Pond Dalston is to host an event with the master distiller of one of the USA’s leading craft distilleries as part of London Cocktail Week.

Paul Hletko will present the Few Spirits range at events on Saturday October 11, with a talk for bartenders at 2pm and a meet and greet at 5pm. The distillery near Chicago produces whiskeys and gins under the Few name.

Pond Dalston (pictured) in north-east London will also sell a special £4 cocktail for people wearing a London Cocktail Week wristband. A Dog’s Life is a soft and silky Old Fashioned-style drink with whiskey, green tea syrup and lapsang souchong tincture, made in conjunction with FEW spirits’ White Dog Whiskey.

Bar manager Megs DeMeulenaere said: “Few Spirits is a craft distillery in Evanston, Illinois making distinguished and distinctive American gin, rye whiskey and bourbon, among other limited releases.

“In 2014, Few Rye was named craft whiskey of the year by Whisky Advocate and their entire range continues to be recognised for its quality and used by many of the world’s best bars and most talented bartenders.”

The events are free but spaces are limited, so please RSVP via or 020 3772 6727.

Pond Dalston has been opened by Byron Knight whose other ventures include Off-Broadway. He was a founder of north-east London’ Beavertown brewery and Duke’s Brew & Que.
