A colony of robotic bats came to life in Brixton Market in south London at an in-bar event run for Bacardi rum.
At dusk, the Brixton bats began emitting chirps and clicks to the crowd below – using the technology of the Chirp app which converts messages, pictures and other data into digital sounds.
The encoded sounds unlocked a series of prizes including free tickets for gigs at the O2 Academy, cinema showings at Ritzy Brixton, an evening for two at Seven At Brixton and Bacardi rum drinks. There were also 100 limited-edition Craig Richards vinyls hidden within the music played inside the venue.
The activity was based around Brixton’s Market Row and Seven At Brixton bar.
