Step inside the Ambassador’s Residence with this new video featuring a reception where bartenders across London competed for a place on a trip to Iceland.

The venue was the home of the British ambassador for Reyka vodka – the brand ambassador, that is. Joe Petch hosted the competition at the bar he has built in his home in north London using parts from former cocktail bars Sahara in Reading and Wax Jambu in Islington.

Eight bartenders competed to win a trip to Iceland, the home of Reyka, judged by Bar magazine editor Mark Ludmon and another ambassador: bartender Rod Esmeliah who is brand ambassador for Disaronno and Tia Maria liqueurs.

The winner was Ian McIntyre of NOLA Bar in Shoreditch, east London, who conjured up a Hurricane that he had pre-made and bottled.

In second place was Filippo Previero from Mr Fogg’s and in third was Lewis Coburn from Mark’s Bar at Hix.

The other competitors were Chris Dennis of Trailer Happiness, Sophie Mackay of Casita, Simone Rossi of Quo Vadis, Alastair Fraser from London Cocktail Club, and Joe Polato and Michele Reina, both of The Looking Glass Cocktail Club.

The video was created by Idle Productions and features the track Wouldn’t You Like To Know by The Evening Guests.
