After steadily expanding their business over the past 10 years, Brett Woonton and Charlie Young have opened their biggest-ever site for restaurant and wine bar Vinoteca.

The new location – their fifth – is in the One Pancras Square development at King’s Cross station in London, and features 90 covers, including an outdoor terrace that seats 30.

The site is also the first with a dedicated wine shop and tasting space, bursting with an impressive range of over 250 wines from all around the world.

With wine remaining a key focus, the new Vinoteca also offers a full range of breakfast wines for the first time, with a selection of low- and no-alcohol wines alongside champagne and moscato.

Vinoteca’s range of keg and bag-in-box wines is also available at King’s Cross, including two wines poured fresh on tap. Many of these are imported exclusively by Vinoteca, and Charlie and Brett work closely with producers to deliver a pioneering selection of the sustainably packaged wines.

The new site is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as drinks. The food has been development under head chef Kieren Steinborn, formerly at Alain Ducasse in London and Michelin-starred Thackeray’s in Kent and head chef at The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe in London.

Examples of dishes from Kieren’s spring menu include: English rose veal tonnato, silver skin anchovies and grilled gem hearts; hot smoked Scottish salmon and quinoa tabbouleh, grilled Cornish mackerel, warm pickled vegetables, capers and pine nuts; and roast lemon Cotswold chicken, panzanella, English lettuce and herbs.

Desserts include pannacotta with Samos poached rhubarb and almond tart with muscat grapes.

Breakfast and weekend brunch feature light and healthy options such as prunes with orange compote and muesli with ginger wine-soaked raisins. There are also more traditional offerings such as coddled eggs and grilled manx kipper, mustard butter and lemon.

Those on the go can grab a £1 espresso at the bar and a selection of freshly baked pastries and homemade cakes.

Designed by CantorMasters, the interior is centred around a striking 20ft horseshoe zinc bar which sits at the heart of the dining room. Impressive 10ft floor-to-ceiling windows ensure the space is flooded with natural light throughout the day.

The first Vinoteca opened in Farringdon in 2005, followed by Marylebone, Soho and Chiswick.
