Waterford Crystal partners theatre bar with cocktails

New cocktails are being added to the menu at Mark’s Bar at the Old Vic theatre in London as part of a new partnership with glass specialist Waterford Crystal.

A bespoke Waterford Cocktail inspired by each of the Old Vic’s productions will be created by the bar team and served in a sparkling Waterford Crystal glass.

For the current production, The Caretaker by Harold Pinter, they have created The Glassmith (pictured), a mix of Beefeater Gin, lemon juice, honey water, camomile syrup and egg white.

Located in the theatre’s dress circle and upper circle areas, Mark’s Bar is operated by the business headed by chef Mark Hix which also runs restaurants Hix in Soho and Hixter in Southwark – both home to a Mark’s Bar in their basements.

It will offer The Glassmith throughout the run of The Caretaker which stars Timothy Spall, Daniel Mays and George MacKay. After it closes on May 14, the play will be followed by Jekyll & Hyde, a new dance thriller from award-winning choreographer Drew McOnie, and Groundhog Day, a new musical based on the film of the same name, created by the team behind hit show Matilda.
