Wholesale group expands with on-trade members

glamorgan beer companyMore suppliers to the on-trade have joined the Landmark Wholesale Group that operates on behalf of independent wholesalers.

It has brought on board six new companies – boosting group turnover to more than £3billion – after launching a drive to recruit more suppliers operating in the on-trade sector.

They include Edwards Beer & Minerals, which operates within a 30-mile radius of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, and Nottingham-based on-trade specialist Libra Drinks Wholesale, which specialises in supplying cask ales, imported beers and wines across the East Midlands.

Another is Glamorgan Beer Co, one of Wales’s leading independent family-run drinks wholesalers, specialising in the supply of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks to the licensed trade, including the largest cask ale portfolio in Wales.

The others are: family-run Hills Prospect, based in London’s East End and supplying a range of products including soft drinks, keg lagers and ciders within the M25 and throughout Essex; Jack Sullivan, a specialist in premium-packaged beers and spirits, operating within a 35-mile radius of Swansea; and Middleton Wholesale with a portfolio of more than 1,500 products, particularly cask ales.

Landmark managing director Martin Williams said: “This is a major achievement for Landmark Wholesale and recruiting six new members in such a short space of time surpasses all our expectations.

“It will significantly strengthen our on-trade membership across the UK and give us really good national distribution. They will use all of Landmark Wholesale’s trading and marketing services and stock our ranges of own-brand licensed products.

“This is a direct result of our strategic on-trade new member recruitment drive and follows on from Hall’s Drinks joining earlier this year. These six new members will provide great growth for the group, establish volume in the on-trade and add to the overall service offering that we provide.

“We are only at the start of our recruitment drive for on-trade and look forward to announcing more new members to the group in the months ahead.”
