Colonsay-based Wild Thyme Spirits has added a bramble-flavoured gin liqueur to its line-up.
Available in a new 50cl bottling, Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur is described as “an autumnal variation of Wild Thyme Spirits’ Colonsay Gin” which is now made on the Hebridean island.
The blackberry-based liqueur derives inspiration from the ancient Scots tradition of the ‘tree calendar’ in which the bramble vine represented the month of Muin – or September as it is known today – as this was when bramble fruits were gathered.
To make the spirit, Colonsay Gin is infused with blackberries that are hand-foraged from the hedgerows across the island.
The result is described as “a full-bodied and rich liqueur, with a beautiful distinctive taste, subtle aroma and vibrant colour”.
Bottled at 20% ABV, Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur is suggested served over ice or topped with champagne or prosecco.
