Wild time for sparkling drink with perry, gin and elderflower

Wild Elderflower Spritz

A new sparkling perry-based drink made with gin and elderflower is being introduced in the UK in time for summer.

Distributed by Cask Liquid Marketing, Wild Elderflower Spritz is the first product from new company Wild Drinks, founded by Jonathan Wallington, which aims to capitalise on the popularity of spritzes.

With ABV of 5.4%, it has a base of a fine and light sparkling perry from Belgium plus a dash of gin and the delicate floral flavour of elderflower. It comes in a 250ml bottle.

The recommended serve is pouring about 75% of the bottle into a tall glass or wine glass over ice plus a slice of lime squeezed and dropped in.

The design of the label takes inspiration from Jonathan’s home in Dorset with its natural wild hedgerows and also has elegance in the style of Victorian botanical illustrations.

It has been launched into the off- and on-trade, with distribution starting in London. Initial stockists include Chotto Matte in Soho, The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, Harrison’s in Balham and Bedford & Strand in Covent Garden.
