William Grant & Sons’ UK brand ambassador team are taking their ‘Unwrapped’ initiative to a further three cities in 2019: Bristol, Manchester and London.
Unwrapped: The Other Side of Bartending debuted in October 2018, presenting a series of brand ambassador-led talks, designed to provide the on-trade with key insights, knowledge and skills to enrich their careers and personal growth.
The original launch event in Edinburgh received an overwhelmingly positive response, attracting in excess of 120 attendees and raising more than £2,000 for mental health charity SANE.
This year the team will continue touring the UK, bringing ‘Unwrapped’ to even more members of the on-trade.
The 2019 series kicked off in Bristol on 25 March. Held at Watershed, the event featured immersive brand experiences, including Disaronno’s speed sours competition, live street art by Sailor Jerry, and a keynote talk from charity partner The Benevolent.
In the evening, the brand ambassadors and the Monkey Shoulder SWAT Team invaded HMSS for a bar takeover, with all proceeds going to leading UK mental health charity SANE.
Cocktails on the night were the Gully Gawk Gimlet, a blend of Reyka Icelandic Vodka, nettle cordial, humid soil essence and fino sherry, Jungle Bird, made with Woods 100 Navy Rum, Campari, pineapple and lime, and Cherried, combining Tia Maria, Extract Coffee Roasters Kenyan filter and black cherry syrup.
The next event will take place in Manchester on May 13, before hitting London in November.
