Winners named in London Club & Bar Awards

McQueenMcQueen, Pacha, Sanctum Soho and The 2&8 Club are among winners in this year’s London Club & Bar Awards which were announced last night.

JuJu in Chelsea was named best late-night bar after previous years saw it win awards for best DJ bar, best bar, outstanding mixology and best new bar.

JuJu was opened five years ago by Lee Chapman and Leslie Ash who also have So-UK in Clapham. Lee said: “We are delighted to receive this award. The London Club and Bar Awards are very important to us at JuJu and to be honoured with an accolade for the fifth year in succession makes it even more special.”

McQueen (pictured above), the Shoreditch hotspot launched by club entrepreneur Dezzi Mc Causland three years ago, won the award for best bar. It follows last year’s title of best restaurant bar in the awards.

Best hotel bar went to the bar at Sanctum Soho while the award for best bartender in London went to Walter Pintus, head bartender at the Rivoli Bar at The Ritz hotel. The title of best restaurant bar went to Japanese restaurant Nozomi in Chelsea.

The 2&8 Club, which opened in the basement of Morton’s in Mayfair last year, was named best members’ club.

Pacha London in Victoria, which underwent a major refurbishment earlier this year (pictured below), was named best dance club.

The award for best interior design went to Bodo’s Schloss in Kensington, created by Antoin Commane and Diego Bivero-Volpe with Piers Adam and Nick House of Brompton Brands. Inspired by Austrian alpine skiing, it was designed and built by interiors specialist Cheeky Tiki.
