Winning bars and clubs named in London Lifestyle Awards

The Polo Bar at The Westbury hotel in Mayfair has won the title of bar of the year in the annual London Lifestyle Awards.

The Art Deco-inspired bar (pictured) received the award, based on voting by the public, at a ceremony at the Troxy in Stepney, last night.

The award for best hospitality group went to Inception Group which operates Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, Maggie’s and Barts in Chelsea, Disco in Soho, and Bunga Bunga and Cocobananas in Battersea.

The winner of best members’ club went to Home House in Portman Square while best club went to The Drury Club in Covent Garden. Koko London in Camden was voted live music venue of the year.

Restaurant of the year was Coya while the Shangri-La in The Shard was named hotel of the year.

Now in their fifth year, the London Lifestyle Awards are organised to celebrate talented individuals and companies that make London “the greatest city in the world”.

Last night’s ceremony was hosted by Marcus Brigstocke who introduced celebrity presenters and also entertainment from Rockabellas, Lizzie Deane and band, Purdy, Flynn and Lucy Kay. The evening ended with a brilliant set from DJ Rick.

The awards organisers also announced a list of 50 key London influencers including Inception Group co-founder, chefs Jason Atherton, Gordon Ramsay and Nuno Mendes, restaurateur Sir Terence Conran, and JJ Goodman, co-founder of London Cocktail Club bars.
