Seasonal hot and frozen cocktails have been added to the menu at the Champagne Bar at Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel & Spa.
The Sheffield bar has introduced the “Fire & Ice” cocktails to pay homage to the Winter Garden, the city centre’s modern glasshouses that influenced the look of the newly refurbished hotel nearby.
The Winter Garden Cocktail Collection showcases two hot and two frozen combinations. The Winter Garden Warmer features warmed Mooreland Whisky, honey, lemon juice and a sprinkling of cinnamon as a twist on the traditional Hot Toddy as well as a Whisky Sour.
The Sheffield Scorcher delivers a fruity apple taste with a kick, using hot mulled cider, Kraken black spiced rum and a dash of Martell cognac.
The Green Ice Queen is made with iced Russian Standard Vodka, complementing its clean and crisp flavour with a dash of green Midori, finished with soda and fresh limes and served in a frosted martini glass.
The Frosted Berry Brandy is a refreshing take on a Daiquiri cocktail – a mix of ice, blackberries, raspberries and Martell cognac. Topped up with apple juice and a dash of Angostura Bitters, it is served in a frosted tumbler.
The Winter Garden Cocktail Collection is available until January 31, priced from £9 per cocktail.
As part of the hotel’s refurbishment, the Champagne Bar features rustic tones and textures inspired by local plants found in the Winter Garden to offer a “peaceful and harmonious environment”.
