WKD cocktail cauldrons add to Halloween theatre

WKD CauldronCocktail cauldrons for sharing cocktails are being provided to outlets by SHS Drinks alongside spooky recipes to help celebrate Halloween with RTD brand WKD.

The 1.4 litre moulded cauldrons come with authentic-looking feet to keep them stable and are designed for groups of friends to share cocktails at their table.

SHS Drinks is also supplying the new WKD “Foamy Powder” which, when added to a cocktail, creates a theatrical fizzing effect.

Eight Halloween-themed cocktail recipes have been created under the banner of “Witch Cocktail Cauldron?”, mixed with spirits and soft drinks.

They include the WKD Pumpkin Grin, combining WKD Iron Brew, whisky, lime and lemonade over ice, and WKD Witches Brew, mixing WKD Purple with lemonade and a herbal liqueur like Jagermeister over ice.

The WKD Goblin Juice is a murky mix of WKD Green, raspberry liqueur and lemonade over ice. To help staff prepare the cocktails, SHS Drinks is providing a reference guide to ingredients.

The WKD “Foamy Powder”, which has a mint lime flavour, is being supplied to create added theatre around the serving of the cocktails. It can also add a twist to the Halloween cocktails such as the WKD Bolt from the Blue, which turns from blue to green when the powder is added.

SHS Drinks is also providing outlets with a range of amusing WKD-style point-of-sale materials, including banners, posters, table-talkers and impactful hanging mobiles featuring either a witch or a mummy astride a giant bottle.

Debs Carter, marketing director for WKD at SHS Drinks, said: “Halloween is becoming a bigger and bigger event in the social calendar each year. We aim to reflect its growing importance by providing licensees with in-outlet activity which not only generates footfall and drives sales, but also creates a great atmosphere for consumers and helps build the overall sense of occasion.”

With October 31 falling on a Thursday this year, SHS Drinks points out that licensees should think about what would be the best day to hold any Halloween events and promote it in advance to their customers.

To support this, posters with the tagline, “HalloWKD. We’ve got it all wrapped up”, have a “join us here” box so that bars, pubs and clubs can advertise the date of their Halloween party. Banners are also available.

Debs added: “With our eye-catching cocktail cauldrons and special recipes, our fizzing WKD Foamy Powder and a range of witty and functional POS, we plan to help publicans make the very most of the Halloween opportunity.”
