WKD SoundClash returns with ‘crowd-sourced’ club nights

WKD has brought back its interactive club nights under the banner of WKD SoundClash, partnering with three nightclubs around the UK.

The first event will be at Pozition in Hull on October 18, followed by Domain in Blackpool and a third venue still to be announced. WKD takes over the entire club with bespoke branding and a huge stage set.

The “crowd-sourced” nights allow clubbers to choose their own music through social media, provided through a link-up with music-streaming service Spotify.

The nights also feature a “Clash of the DJs” between Lauren Pope from The Only Way Is Essex and Melvin Odoom from the Kiss FM Breakfast Show (pictured).

With the names of requested tracks projected around the venue, the clubbers’ support for the competing DJs will be monitored, ultimately resulting in the powering down of the loser’s turntable.

The WKD promotional team will be in attendance while a free photoboth with WKD-related props will provide lasting memories under the banner “Looking good. Sounding WKD”.

There will be VIP meet-and-greet sessions at all events, and a range of special SoundClash-themed WKD cocktail pitchers will provide groups of clubbers with a fun way to share and enjoy WKD.

Over nine million target consumers saw the equivalent advertising campaign for the 2013 SoundClash events.

“The venues involved in the spring 2014 programme averaged a 25% increase in footfall so this activity really does deliver for both club-owners and club-goers.

“WKD consumers love the opportunity to get involved and shape these innovative, crowd-sourced nights out and this autumn’s SoundClash events are going to be something really special.”
