Bars in New York City, Stockholm and Amsterdam are being brought to the UK as part of a pop-up being created for Woodford Reserve whiskey for London Cocktail Week.
The Woodford Alliance will be in Shoreditch from October 4 to 6 with a different experience each night that brings together three overseas bars with three in London, combining the best-loved elements of each bar in one place.
On Wednesday, compare the pencil portraits and modern cocktails of Manhattan’s Suffolk Arms with the wooden panelling and punch-style drinks of The Punch Room at the London Edition hotel.
On Tuesday, Stockholm’s New Orleans-inspired Little Quarter will partner Old Street bar, the Nightjar, while, on Thursday, The Tailor in Amsterdam will come together with Bethnal Green’s Peg + Patriot.
Each night the dressing, experience, staff and bar menu will change, with the drinks list including two of each bar’s best Woodford Reserve drinks. Light bites, based on the bars’ menus, will be served while specially curated music playlists from the bars run through the evening.
The events will take place from 5pm each day at the White Rabbit Studios at 471-473 The Arches, Dereham Place, London, EC2A 3HJ.
The Suffolk Arms is a modern cocktail pub on the Lower East Side created by third-generation bartender Giuseppe González. Originally inspired by a London pub, Giuseppe and his team’s approach to cocktails has won them international recognition.
Little Quarter brings New Orleans’ cocktail scene to life in Stockholm, with a constantly rotating drinks menu blending the best of cocktail bartending with a playful rebellious attitude.
The Tailor in Amsterdam offers a rich history that dates back to a young tailor and entrepreneur in 1866 called AW Krasnapolsky. Together with award-winning mixologist Tess Posthumus, the bar specialises in making tailor-made cocktails.
