Zizzi opens first stand-alone bar

Restaurant chain Zizzi had opened its first stand-alone bar as part of its new restaurant in Glasgow.

Zizzi Royal Exchange, which launched in Royal Exchange Square this month, is the company’s biggest restaurant in the UK, seating about 250 people including an outside seating area and the bar.

The bar area serves a selection of Italian light bites, bringing the northern Italian tradition of after-work aperitivo to the city.

It offers a selection of wines, soft drinks and beers such as Menabrea from northern Italy, Peroni Gran Riserva and Pilsner Urquell and its own exclusive cider from north-eastern Italy as well as the company’s own limoncello.

Erica Sawer, operations manager for Zizzi Scotland, said: “As Glasgow is such a vibrant city, we wanted to offer something different so we’re opening our biggest-ever restaurant in the UK that features a fully licensed separate bar.”
