Globe-trotting male supermodel Zoolander has inspired special cocktails at Stonegate Pub Company bars in a partnership with Cîroc vodka.
Taking their cue from the two Zoolander films, The Blue Steel and OMG Martini cocktails have been created for Missoula bars as well as bars within Stonegate’s Premium estate.
They are made with Cîroc vodka which has released a limited-edition bottle called Blue Steel – named after the signature pout of Derek Zoolander, played by Ben Stiller (pictured). It ties in with the release of Zoolander 2 on February 12.
The Blue Steel combines the vodka with Havana Club 3 Year Old rum, Olmeca Tequila and Gordon’s Gin plus lemon juice, lemonade and blue curaçao. The OMG Martini mixes the vodka with lemon juice, strawberry puree and gomme syrup, garnished with a strawberry.
The cocktails are available in February at the bars for £6.95 each alongside the Blue Steel Cîroc vodka bottles which can be ordered for sharing with friends.
Five pairs of cinema tickets to see the film are being offered as a prize in a promotion running in each region. To enter, people tweet their best model pose selfie – in true Zoolander style – using the hashtag #BlueSteelSelfie.
Alan Armstrong, head of marketing for Stonegate Pub Company’s Venues business, said: “Zoolander 2 is looking to be one of the biggest film releases of the year and we know that this partnership with Cîroc will go down really well with our customers – combining the chance to sample some great limited-edition cocktails, strike a pose and take their very own Blue Steel selfie, as well as the chance to win cinema tickets.”
